Iran is capable of hitting U.S. military forces anywhere in the world if attacked by the United States, Tehran's ambassador to Russia told a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday, MNA reported.
Mohammad Reza Sajjadi said the U.S. would be making a mistake if it carried out a military strike on Iran, Russia's Interfax news agency reported.
"The Americans know very well what Iran is like and what our potential is," Sajjadi said. "Iran is in a very good position to deliver retaliatory strikes on America around the world ... An attack on Iran would be suicidal for them."
The United States has said all the options are on the table to deal with Iran for its nuclear program which Tehran insists in purely for civilian purposes.
As a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iran has right to develop nuclear technology for civilian uses.
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced on February 5 that commenting on the nature of Iran's nuclear activities falls with the ambit of the International Atomic Energy Agency as a technical body.
