Malaysian authorities have arrested an Iranian man suspected of involvement in bomb blasts in Thailand, police said Thursday, dpa reported.
Police chief inspector General Ismail Omar said the suspect was detained late Wednesday at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"We have received reports from our counterparts (in Thailand) about the suspect's involvement in the alleged plot against diplomats there," he said. "He is being investigated for terrorism activities in relation to bombings in Thailand."
Thai police said the suspect and two other Iranians were suspected of involvement in a series of blasts in Bangkok on Tuesday that injured several people.
Israeli officials said they suspected a link between Tuesday's blasts in Bangkok and two incidents in Georgia and India on Monday.
