Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari assured Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that his country will not provide assistance to the U.S., in case it decides to attack Iran, News Pakistan reported.
Presidents of Iran and Pakistan met and talked at the third trilateral summit that took place in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad.
The third country participating in the summit was Afghanistan, which was represented by its leader, Hamid Karzai.
The President of Pakistan assured Iran of its support by stating that air bases from Pakistan will not be provided to the military of the United States in the event that the super power decides to attack Iran.
"We need to inter-depend on each other and a safe Pakistan is a prosperous Pakistan," Zardari underscored. "Our bilateral relationships cannot be undermined by any international pressure of any kind."
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in turn, said that "all countries of the region know that the roots of problems do not exist in the region itself, these problems have been imposed on our region."
