Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that utilizing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes based on the non-proliferation treaty is the righteous right of Iran, IRNA reported.

Mehmanparast made the remarks in the Serbian capital city of Belgrade and during his tour to the Balkan region on Thursday while being interviewed by Serbia's state television.

The Iranian diplomat elaborated on I R Iran's nuclear energy program and while referring to Iran's negotiation with Group 5+1 (five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) in Istanbul, Turkey.

"The Iranian nation will not refrain from its rights to peaceful nuclear energy under the pressure of the West," he added.

Mehmanparast noted IR Iran considers the policy of negotiations and cooperation as useful for settling the differences and resolving the problems while strongly defending its right to peaceful nuclear technology.

Commenting on Iran-Serbia relations in different fields, the spokesman said that Iran and Serbia are having good relations and both countries are keen on enhancing their relations, particularly their economic ties.

Mehmanparast who is heading a media delegation to Serbia during his visit to that country has met with the head of the joint Iranian-Serbian economic delegation, head of Serbia's public diplomacy, Serbia's deputy foreign minister, Serbian culture minister, and a number of media managers.
