Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stressed that support for the oppressed Palestinian nation is the focal point in Iran's foreign policy, FNA reported.
Speaking at a meeting with the head of Iran-Palestine Friendship Association Abdul Karim Sharqi, Larijani stated that the Iranian nation's sense of solidarity with the Palestinians is deeply rooted in history.
Referring to the revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa, he said the popular uprisings have provided a significant potential support for the Palestinian nation.
He also underlined the reinforcement of resistance against Israel as the only way for the Palestinians to attain their rights and materialize their cause.
During the meeting, Sharqi hailed Iran for playing a pivotal role in the victories of the resistance front against Israel over the recent years.
He described resistance as the only way for the Palestinians to restore their rights and liberate the occupied lands.
Earlier, Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed Iran's direct involvement in the Palestinian and Lebanese confrontation against Israel, including the Lebanese Summer 2006 33-day resistance against Israel.
"Wherever Iran interferes, it announces it in a very straightforward manner. For instance, we interfered in confrontations against Israel, which resulted in the (Lebanese) victory in the 33-day war and (Palestinians' victory in) the 22-day (Gaza) war," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing millions of Friday Prayers worshippers on Tehran University Campus in February.
"In future too, we will support and help everyone who opposes the Israel," the Leader underscored.
