High foreign exchange rates and the government's policy, which does not allow medical centers to increase prices of services, have put many radiology centers in Iran at the risk of being closed down, head of the Iranian Association of Radiology Abdorrasoul Sedaqat said.

Sedaqat told the ILNA News Agency that since radiology centers import 90 percent of their equipment, they are severely affected by forex price rise, embargoes, as well as banking sanctions.

The USD rate in Iran's open market is around 19000 rials, above 6000 rials more than USD official rate announced by Central Bank of Iran.
