Iran's Naval Forces have repaired and launched the "Tareq" submarine, IRINN reported.

Present at the launch ceremony Iranian navy commander Habibollah Sayyari said that it took Iranian specialists a lot of time to repair "Tareq".

Other Navy commanders aside from Sayyari were present at the ceremony as well.

"The country that made "Tareq" did not provide us with any instructions on submarine's details and structure," Sayyari said, adding that Iran's specialists had to figure out everything themselves.

Eventually, the 3200 ton submarine was completely repaired by Iran, and has been launched.

Iran's submarine force currently consists of Russian Kilo-class diesel-electric submarines (Tareq 901, Noor 902, Yunes 903), one 500-ton Nahang and four 120-ton Yono-class (also referred to as Qadir or Ghadir-class) midget submarines.
