The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) says Iran's oil reserves were 137 billion barrels until 2010. The figure equals to 10 percent of the world's total oil reserves.
According to the CBI report, Iran's proved oil reserves in 2000 and 2009 were respectively 8.96 percent and 9.95 percent of the world's total oil reserves, ISNA reported.
The report says Iran holds 12.8 percent of OPEC's total oil reserves in 2010.
However, according to BP report, released last month, Iran's proved oil reserves in 2010 were 151.2 billion barrels. The figure doesn't indicate any increase until late 2011.
According to BP report, the world's total oil reserves in 2011 were 1652.6 billion barrels, and this figure in late 2010 was 1.622.1 billion barrels.
The Central Bank of Iran has mentioned any figure about Iran's oil reserves for neither 2011 nor 2012.
