Iran underlines political solution to Syrian crisis

Senior Iranian foreign ministry officials reiterated once again that the current crisis in Syria can only be soothed through political solutions, FNA reported.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian blasted foreign meddling in the regional countries' affairs by the trans-regional powers, and stressed that the Syria issue should and can only be settled down through political means.

He further blamed certain states for taking contradictory stances on similar developments in the Arab countries.

The official added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been adopting transparent and equal stances on what is happening in Bahrain, Yemen, and Syria.

He stressed that Iran condemns any foreign interference in these countries and considers sending weapons to unrest-hit countries as a grave mistake in support of terrorism.

The Iranian envoy said the only way out of the ongoing turmoil in these countries is a political solution away from military interventions.

Syria is different from Libya, Amir- Abdollahian said, warning that any non-political solution will bring a real disaster to the region.
