Iranian scientists are cooperating in the implementation of an International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project aimed at materialising full-scale electricity-producing fusion power plants, Mahmoud Qorannevis, the director of Iran's plasma physics research centre stated.

In an interview with the Mehr News Agency, Qorannevis referred to specifications of the ITER project, adding that different researchers are working on the project which is underway in France.

The ITER project is scheduled to be completed in 2028, he said, adding that Iranian scientists are working in the field of measuring reactor parameters.

It should be noted that the project is funded and run by seven member entities - the European Union (EU), India, Japan, China, Russia, South Korea and the United States.
