Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu received Iran's senior nuclear negotiator Said Jalili's assistant Ali Bagheri in Ankara.

Davutoglu informed Bagheri that Turkey supported the nuclear negotiations between the P5+1 countries and Iran and that such support would continue.

Davutoglu and Bagheri on July 25 reached an understanding to hold future nuclear negotiations in Istanbul.

Bagheri on July 24 met with the representative of P5+1 countries and EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton's assistant Helga Schmid in Istanbul and discussed Tehran's nuclear program.

In an earlier statement released, Ashton's office had said that Bagheri and Schmid would discuss minimizing conflicts and that the two representatives' meeting would be followed by talks between Ashton and Jalili.

Three rounds of talks were held between P5+1 countries and Iran in 2012.

The first talks took place in Istanbul, the second in Baghdad and the third one in Moscow.
