Israel knows Iran's response will be crushing if its attacked, Commander of Iranian Land Forces, Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said, Iranian Young Journalists website reported.

Pourdastan said Israel has witnessed the military maneuvers that Iran has been performing lately, and took notice.

"They received the alarm well," Pourstastan noted.

Pourdastan added that Israel is falling apart from the inside and therefore its attack on Iran is unlikely.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said on Tuesday that the U.S. does not believe Israel has made a decision on whether to attack Iran over its nuclear program, following sharp rhetoric from Israeli officials that has put financial markets on edge.

General Pourdastan noted that Iran will be holding four more military maneuvers soon.

Two of them, according to Pourstastan, will be held jointly between Iran's IRGC and the National Army later this year.

Third military exercise involving tanks and heavy artillery will reportedly be organized in November, and the fourth exercise would involve IRGC's and National Army's joint air maneuvers.

According to Pourdastan, the air maneuvers of IRGC-Army will be held either in the center of the country, or on the Western borders of Iran.

Speaking of the U.S., Pourdastan noted that the Western power wanted to attack Iran two years ago, but wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and Iran's increasing military power made the U.S. retreat, and go for other methods.

Iran today marks the International Quds day, a day of global solidarity with Palestine. The International Quds day is being marked in all of Iran's cities, and among muslims in other countries as well.

Rallies began in Tehran and other cities at 10:30 a.m. local time. The demonstrators demanded the release of Quds (Jerusalem) and urged Muslim nations to unite.
