Iranian FM Ali Akbar Salehi speaking to the journalists in Azerbaijan today said that Western sanctions have no effect on Iran's economy.
The minister noted that the imposed sanctions only cause minor problems for Iran, adding that the Islamic Republic's GPD stands at some $1 trillion.
Speaking of the Nagorno Karabakh issue, Salehi noted that Iran supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, and expressed hope that the conflict would be solved peacefully.
Salehi arrived in Azerbaijan on Sunday to attend the 20th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of ECO.
The ministerial meeting of ECO is scheduled to be followed by the 12th Summit of Heads of State/Government of ECO, in which Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will partake on Tuesday.
