Pakistani Consul General to Mashhad Qazi Habiborrahman said on Sunday Paksitan is willing to enhance trade with Iran despite the western sanctions, IRNA reported.
He told reporters, Iran and Pakistan enjoy excellent potentials to expand trade which has been on a growing trend during the past several years.
Habiborrahman said Iran and Pakistan officials underline expansion of mutual cooperation therefore they spare no opportunity to consolidate the ties.
"The western governments intensify sanctions on Iran for so-called nuclear activities, but Pakistan repeatedly announced that producing peaceful nuclear energy is the legitimate right of any country especially Iran. Therefore, Iran should not be deprived of its legitimate right," he added.
The diplomat said those countries which have cut their trade this with Iran they themselves accepted to be the loser.
Habiborrahman said Iran and Pakistan enjoy extensive capacity for economic cooperation and that the religious, cultural affinities and common borders contribute to expand trade ties.
