Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister to visit Turkmenistan, Russia

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will arrive in Ashgabat on Monday.

During the visit, Araqchi will hold talks with top Turkmen officials, the Mehr News Agency reported.

The two countries with Kazakhstan's participation are implementing the North-South major joint railway project. The road is being laid and financially supported by the Asian Development Bank and Islamic Development Bank.

Turkmenistan jointly with Iran has implemented a number of large scale projects such as the construction of a water reservoir at Dostluk, the Tejan-Sarahs-Mashhad railway, interstate pipelines and power lines.

Turkmenistan and Iran have also been regularly negotiating to increase the energy supply. Iran imports electric power and assists in its transit to Turkey.

Araqchi will leave Ashgabat for Moscow on Wednesday to attend the meeting between deputy foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Besides participating in the meeting, Araqchi will also hold talks with the Russian officials in order to boost the bilateral ties of Tehran and Moscow.
