Iran will be conducting naval military drills on the South East coast of Iran in January, Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said, Fars reported.
Sayyari made the remarks at the closed session of Iranian Parliament's meeting.
Sayyari also noted that in the future Iran plans to send its naval forces to Atlantic ocean, in an attempt to demonstrate the power and capabilities of Iranian navy.
In September, Sayyari said that Iran's naval forces will expand their international presence to safeguard the Islamic Republic's interests and rights.
On December 24, 2011 Iran's Navy launched massive "Velayat 90" naval military drills which covered an area stretching from east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden.
