Iranian envoy discusses issues of mutual interest with Georgian FM

Iran's Ambassador to Tbilisi Majid Saber and Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze discussed issues of mutual interst and ways of strengthening bilateral ties in a meeting in Tbilisi on Saturday, IRNA reported.

Saber congratulated Ms. Panjikidze on her appointment as foreign minister and submitted message of Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on felicitation of the new year and Christmas Day.

The Georgian FM, for her part, expressed satisfaction with bilateral ties between the two countries, and appreciated Iran's principled stances concerning Georgia as a powerful country in the region.

Panjikidze also welcomed Iranian visits and travel to Georgia and said lifting visa requirements between the two countries was a wise measure, which has led to development of relations especially in the fields of cultural and social interactions.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of increasing cooperation on regional and international affairs.

Saber also presented Iran's six-article plan for Syria crisis to the Georgian FM.
