Iran has domestically manufactured a tubular centrifuge, deputy president of Iraian Ministry of Health and Education's Research and Technology center, Mostafa Ghanei said, IRIB News reported.

"We were having certain difficulties in buying the centrifuge because of the sanctions," Ghanei said, adding that thus the country's experts had to manufacture it domestically.

"A tubular centrifuge can be used not only for medical purposes, that is why we couldn't buy one," Ghanei explained.

The tubular centrifuge is used primarily for the continuous separation of liquids from liquids or of very fine particles from liquids, although in some cases it is employed as a batch-type centrifuge. In general, it is used when higher centrifugal fields are required for separation.

Tubular centrifuges are used in pharmaceutical industries, chemical & food industries, printing ink industries, paint undustries, fuel & oil purification, gum clarification, blood fractionation.

Ghanei also noted that Iranian scientists were able to create a linear accelerator in the country, adding that one of the friendly to Iran countries, helped to create the accelerator.

Linear accelerators (linacs) have many applications: they generate X-rays and high energy electrons for medicinal purposes in radiation therapy, serve as particle injectors for higher-energy accelerators, and are used directly to achieve the highest kinetic energy for light particles (electrons and positrons) for particle physics.

Ghanei said that soon there will be a ceremony of presentation hosted, which will be attended by the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Back in July 2012, a source in Iran's Pasteur Institute said that the country will soon start to manufacture tubular cetrifuges, which are needed for country's pharmaceutical sphere.

The source noted that tubular centrifuges in Iran will be used for purifying protein, for further drug manufacturing.

According to the source the tubular centrifuge manufacturing in Iran will be put to large-scale.

The source also said all parts of the centrifuge will be made by locals, since the devices that were imported from abroad are either damaged or outdated and cannot be properly used for vaccine production.
