Bodies of Polish and Iranian alpinists lost in March while climbing Mount Elbrus were found by rescuers on Tuesday, RIA Novosti reports.

"First, the rescuers found the Polish alpinist's body. The Iranian athlete's body was found a little later. Now the bodies are being transported down to Terskol settlement," the chief of the Elbrus alpine search-and-rescue group Boris Tilov told RIA Novosti.

The information on the disappearance of two tourists, the citizen of Poland Pavel Gostinski and the citizen of Iran Ali-Atabi Sirelli, was received on March 15. The alpinists got lost on March 9.

The rescuers first were looking for them at the altitude of 3.7-4.8 thousand meters, but found only two alpinist rucksacks. The search was suspended on March 20 due to the bad weather conditions. On Monday, rescuers found an unknown body at 4.9-thousand meters altitude during a helicopter flight around Elbrus. A group of 23 rescuers of Elbrus alpine search-and-rescue group left for that place.
