Iranian presidential candidate Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has said that the current method of management should not be continued, Fars news agency reported.

In a live televised speech, Qalibaf said that the current situation is a result of those candidates who had been in charge of the country's diplomatic system.

Qalibaf, who is currently the mayor of Tehran, said "A number of persons who are currently running for president, have been in charge of the diplomatic affairs in the past. Their track record is evident now. I have come to end their era."

Qalibaf hinted implicitly to three other candidates, namely Saeed Jalili, Hassan Rouhani, and Ali-Akbar Velayati.

Qalibaf has praised former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani for creating significant infrastructures but criticized him for cultural approaches at that time.

He also said that during the administration of reformists, the industrial growth rate increased but he seriously blamed them for their improper political policies.

He also appreciated the current administration for implementing the subsidy reform plan, but added that each family in the country is grappling with unemployment, both educated and uneducated ones.

He said that he will attempt to stabilize the foreign currency exchange rate in the first step and reduce production costs and end prices in the next steps.

Previously, Qalibaf promised to restore the country's economy within two years, decentralize national management, provide students of low-income families with the opportunity to continue education till PhD level, and cut the people's share in medical treatment costs, if he is elected as the next president.

Qalibaf said that a "politicization" of issues should be avoided in the country and efforts should be made to implement religious and prudent policies in order to achieve the Islamic Revolution's goals.

Qalibaf was the former commander of the Iranian police and the former commander of the "IRGC" and the Iranian army.

Qalibaf, Ali-Akbar Velayati and Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel have formed the Coalition of Three that is currently running for the presidential elections.

Iran will hold the 11th presidential election on June 14, 2013.

The voters will select the successor of the current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is not able to participate in the elections for the third term according to the country's constitutional laws.

The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election and the Guardian Council vets the candidates for qualifications.
