Iran denies restructuring within Atomic Energy Organization

Iranian Vice President and head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi has denied statements about changing the organization's structure and its transition under the governance of Iran's Energy Ministry, Iranian state IRINN TV reported live.

Salehi who served as Foreign Minister during the ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad`s second term of presidency also quoted Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei saying that the Foreign Ministry is a half of the administration and denied analysis which states that Foreign Ministry was in a secluded and inactive position during Ahmadinejad`s administration.

Salehi also defended his activity as FM and said that during 3 years of activity he has run a successful policy in eliminating US sanctions` effects.

"We can not disclosure our embassies` activities carried out for bypassing the sanctions," he said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has appointed Ali Akbar Salehi as vice president and head of the AEOI.

From 1997 to 2005 Salehi served as Iran's permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Salehi served as vice president and head of the AEOI from 2009 to 2010.

The Ex-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appointed him as Foreign Minister on January 30th, 2011.
