USD rate rose sharply in Iran's open market on August 28 by 2.4 percent compared to previous day, Fars News Agency reported.

Each USD was sold at 32,800 rials on Wednesday, while this figure for Tuesday stood at 31,500 rials.

Other foreign currencies rose in price on August 28 as well. Each pound was sold at 50,400 rials, which shows 2000 rials increase in price, while each euro rose to 43,500 rials, which indicates 1700 rials increase.

The probable strike over Iran's closest ally - Syria by the U.S. and the West, reportedly caused the increase of foreign currencies rates in Iran's open market.
