Iranian Foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi has confirmed news about the recent appointment of Marziyeh Afkham on post of a spokeswoman in the ministry, ISNA news agency reported.
Sharq newspaper reported earlier that Marziyeh Afkham has confirmed news about her appointment as Iran's first FM spokeswoman.
Afkham said at the time that there are still some steps that need to be taken, before the finalization of the appointment.
Afkham has over 30 years of experience at the Iranian Foreign Ministry - she served as director of FM`s Information and Press department for eight years and she will replace Abbas Araqchi.
