Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) saw trading 24.1 million tons of commodities worth of 1.1 quadrillion rial (about $25.2 billion) over the current fiscal year (starting March 20).
The head of IME, Hamed Soltaninejad, has said that the value of trades has grown by 39 percent compared to the same period of last year, ISNA news agency reported.
During the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, the IME saw trading about eight million tons of commodities in the group of industry and minerals, indicating an increase of 29 percent.
The volume of trades of goods and commodities in the agricultural group reached 2.8 million tons indicating a rise of 19 percent.
In the meantime, the debt market of the IME hosted trades of 24,000 tons of goods in the 11-month period which has increased by 33 percent year on year.
The volume of traded petrochemicals in the mentioned period reached 3.6 million tons which has increased by 33 percent.
