Iran can export oil as much as it needs and wants, Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said at a meeting with workers on Labor and Worker’s Week, Trend reports referring to the website of the Supreme Leader of Iran.

According to Khamenei, the US thinks that it has managed to close Iran’s oil export routes. However, if Iranian people and officials work, they will be able to find many ways out of the current problems.

He added that the Iranian people will not keep silent in the face of this step taken by the US.

"The greater the dependence on oil exports, the better it is for Iran," he said.

Khamenei went on to say that the Iranian people will not be brought on their knees by the pressure.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018. The US exempted 8 countries for 6 months from oil sanctions imposed on Iran. These countries continue to buy oil from Iran. The US announced that it will not extend the exemption period, which will end May 2.
