TEHRAN, Iran, May 2. The Iranian government has started to partially pay off its debt of 300 trillion rials (about $71 billion) debt to banks in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022), said the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finances Ehsan Khandoozi, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
Khandoozi pointed out that the transparency pursued by the Ministry should help reveal the biggest debtors.
He pointed out that the ministry is pursuing to increase the sustainable revenues for the banking network. The budget plan for the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022) is predicted to help provide credits to public banks.
The government and public banks have drafted a package to support producers and provide small loans to consumers.
