BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Iran's non-oil import from Georgia decreased by 20.7 percent in value and 11.5 percent in volume during 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), Trend reports via Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The IRICA's data showed that Iran imported 44,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $130 million from Georgia in the reporting period.
However, in the same period last year, Iran imported 49,800 tons of products worth $164 million from Georgia.
Besides, IRICA's data showed that Iran imported various products from Georgia, including various types of tractors, wood and wood materials, medical supplies, etc.
In the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2024), Iran's product import from Georgia was 2,460 tons of products worth nearly $6.97 million.
Additionally, as IRICA's data showed, in 11 months, about 35.8 million tons of products worth about $59.9 billion were imported into Iran. Iran's product imports increased by 11.1 percent in value and 6.4 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
To note, in the import of products, Iran gives primary importance to the import of necessary products that the country needs and imposes certain restrictions on the import of products manufactured in the country.
