BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Production Company produced a total of 154,000 barrels of crude oil using MOT and MOS equipment in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Executive Director of Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Production Company Ghobad Nasseri said, Trend reports.
According to Nasseri, environmental pollution has been prevented by extracting the specified amount of crude oil using MOT and MOS equipment.
The official stated that two units of MOT and MOS equipment are currently operating at the company. The MOT equipment is capable of producing 10,000 barrels of crude oil per day, while the MOS equipment is capable of producing 5,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
Nasseri noted that in the last Iranian year, Iran's Marun Oil and Gas Production Company, despite all the existing obstacles (sanctions imposed by the US on Iran, Iran's inability to purchase crude oil production equipment as a result of sanctions, and its inability to develop the fields properly, etc.), crude oil production amounted to 101 percent of the planned target.
Meanwhile, Iran's main oil companies do not publicize information related to crude oil production for various reasons, including US sanctions.
Marun Oil and Gas Production Company, operating within the National Company Southern Oil Zones of Iran, operates 404 oil wells. The production of this company is 562,000 barrels per day. About 360,000 barrels of it are transported to the Isfahan Oil Refining Company, and the rest (202,000 barrels) to Kharg Island.
To note, this company also produces 570 million cubic feet (about 16.1 million cubic meters) of gas, 25,000 barrels of liquefied gas, and 7,000 barrels of gas condensate.
