BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Iran Shipping Line's capital was increased by 43 percent at the meeting held with the participation of shareholders, Trend reports.
Thus, the capital of Iran's Shipping Line was increased to 82.5 trillion rials (about $1.9 billion).
Meanwhile, Shipping Line's capital previously stood at 57.7 trillion rials (about $1.3 billion).
The capital was increased following a proposal by the Shipping Group's board to increase it through revenue.
To note, Iran Shipping Line has 137 vessels. The total capacity of these ships is 5 million tons. It is planned to add 77 ships to the number of ships.
Within 4 years (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2026), Iran Shipping Group plans to spend about $2.5 billion to purchase ships and containers.
