BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The value of sales in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 20–May 20, 2024) at the Iranian Mercantile Exchange amounted to about 237 trillion rials (about $527 million), Trend reports via Iran's Energy Exchange (IRENEX).
According to the information, about 2.55 million tons of oil, gas, and other energy carriers worth about 194 trillion rials (about $431) were sold in the second month at the Iranian Mercantile Exchange.
The information noted that the domestic division of the exchange sold goods worth 75.6 trillion rials (about $168 million) in the 2nd month, while the international division realized goods worth 118 trillion rials (about $263 million), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), white oil, petroleum products, and naphtha are traded on the exchange.
During the mentioned month, 15 million kilowatt hours of electricity worth about 18.9 trillion rials (about $42 million) were traded on the Iranian Mercantile Exchange.
Furthermore, Standard Parallel Salaf contracts worth 24 trillion rials (about $53.5 million) were sold at the Iranian Mercantile Exchange during the second month.
To note, the sale of hydrocarbon products on Iran's Mercantile Exchange is of great importance. Iran is trying to meet the needs of local companies with hydrocarbon products and to increase exports via the Energy Exchange.
