BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. About 10.5 trillion rials (about $28 million) have been spent on gasification of 9 cities and 130 villages in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, the statement of Iran's Oil Ministry said, Trend reports.
The event was held on June 6 and was attended by Acting Iranian President Mohammad Mokhber, Oil Minister Javad Owji, National Gas Company Executive Director Majid Chegeni, and other officials in a video format. Several transportation and gas supply inaugurations took place at the event.
A total of 5.48 trillion rials (about $14.6 million) has been spent to supply gas to 9 cities in the province, while 5 trillion rials (about $13.3 million) has been spent to gasify 130 villages.
Furthermore, 1,672 kilometers of gas pipelines have been constructed to supply gas to 9 cities and 130 villages in Sistan and Baluchestan provinces.
To note, there are 55 cities and 3,280 villages in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan. Nowadays, 13 towns and 144 villages have been gasified. Currently, gas supply operations are underway in 20 towns and 350 villages.
