BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Imports of non-oil products to Iran's western province of Kurdistan increased by 46 percent in value and 194 percent in weight in the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), controller of customs in Iran's Kurdistan Province Faramarz Omidi told reporters, Trend reports.
Omidi reports that in just two months, the province of Kurdistan received 42,500 metric tons (or $113 million) of non-oil goods.
The imported products, according to Omidi, were primarily composed of raw materials, manufacturing equipment, gold bars, and aluminum.
The official stated that the products were mainly imported from Iraq, Spain, Germany, the UAE, Spain, Türkiye and China.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, 5.84 million tons of products worth about $9.08 billion were imported to Iran during 2 months. Imports of non-oil products to Iran increased by 9.19 percent in value terms and 13.3 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
