Iran discloses loan volumes disbursed to agricultural sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29. Iranian banks issued loans worth 307 trillion rials (about $791 million) in the agricultural sector during two months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.

According to the statistics, about 191 trillion rials (about $491 million) worth of loans were issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.

The statistics indicate that 84.9 trillion rials (about $219 million) worth of loans were issued during two months for the establishment of enterprises and the construction of orchards and farmlands in the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, the information notes that 18.1 trillion rials (about $46.6 million) worth of loans were issued during 2 months to develop Iran's agricultural sector.

Meanwhile, the statistics say that the agricultural sector issued loans worth 2.58 trillion rials (about $32.4 million) for self-employment, 826 billion rials (about $2.12 million) for personal expenses, 87 billion rials (about $224,000) for renovation, and 30 billion rials (about $77,000) for housing.

To note, Iranian banks issued loans worth about 5.73 quadrillion rials (about $14.7 billion) last year.
