(Hurriyet) - A police helicopter flying over the Antalya coast crashed yesterday in the late afternoon in the center of the city. The helicopter, a MD600N type flight vehicle, was carrying 5 top level members of the police force, all of whom were killed in the accident. The accident took place with hundreds of onlookers on hand, as the helicopter descended violently onto central Fevri Cakmak Boulevard in Antalya, a street that includes spots such as the Ataturk Stadium, and the Talya Hotel.
Though emergency teams were sent immediately to the site of the crash, none of the 5 passengers could be saved. Investigations have begun into finding out what the reason for the accident could have been, though initial reports suggest there was a technical problem.
