During the visit Iranian Oil Minister Kazim Veziri Khamanekh paid to Turkey, the countries came to the agreement on executing the joint project for Iranian natural gas export to Europe. Trend s special correspondent reports from Ankara, with this purpose it is planned to raise the throughput capacity of Iranian gas distribution network to that of Turkey, which will allow increase Turkish network load by additional 5mln m3 a day.
The parties also plan utilizing NABUCCO project capacities designed for transfer of 90mln m3 of gas a day. Fraction of Iranian gas transferred in this direction under the project might total 30 to 50 percent.
It is also reported that Turkey and Iran consider construction of a joint refinery. Nevertheless, during Iranian ministers visit to Ankara they failed to agree on installing new additional gas pipeline from Iran to Turkey.
