Greek envoy lauds Iran's nuclear stance

(IRNA) - Greek Ambassador to Tehran Mercurius Karafotias in a meeting with head of Iran-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group Iraj Nadimi here Sunday appreciated Iran's nuclear stance and said that views of both states on regional and global issues, particularly the right of the Iranians to peaceful use of nuclear energy, are quite similar, reports Trend.

According to a report released by Majlis Media Department, at the meeting he referred to earlier contacts between parliament speakers of world four ancient civilizations -- Iran, Greece, Egypt and Italy -- and hoped that such dialogues will continue.

The Greek diplomat expressed satisfaction with favorable mutual relations in the recent years and urged that inter-parliamentary exchanges should increase.

For his part, Nadimi pointed to Iran-Greek relations in historical, civilizational and political domains and hoped for continuing cooperation.

The MP referred to parliamentary relations as one of the means for expansion ofcooperation in all fields, adding that the political will of the heads of both states will help the trend of further strengthening of bonds.
