(IRNA) - An Austrian trade delegation is arriving in Iran on Monday, an official at the Austrian embassy here said on Saturday.

Austria's commercial attache to Iran said trade ties between the two countries over the past 40 years had been at a satisfactory level, reports Trend.

He said Austrian companies were keen on reinvigorating cooperation with their Iranian counterparts.

Representatives from Austria's infrastructural (railway and water), oil, plastics, paper, machinery, wood, agriculture engineering, mines and banking sectors will hold talks with Iranian experts and businessmen, he informed.

He said that trade exchanges between the two countries had increased three times in value and reached some USD 780 million in 2005, adding that this is a laudable achievement for the two sides.

The official noted the enormous potentials of both sides in various fields, and said expansion of cooperation in the energy sector through implementation of the proposed Iran-Austria gas pipeline would greatly benefit their two nations.

He urged wider cooperation between companies of the two sides in implementation of infrastructural, railway and subway projects in Iran.
