PACE President, Rene van der Linden, will carry out a working visit to Ankara , Turkey from 25 to 29 October 2006, Tend reports citing PACE's official announcement.
During his meeting with the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Foreign Minister, Abdullah Gul, van der Linden hopes to discuss Turkey-Council of Europe relations and raise the issue of Turkey's EU accession negotiations.
On Friday 27 October, the PACE President will attend a round table discussion with legal and human rights experts at the Bilgi University, Istanbul. The following day he will place a wreath at the Gallipoli War Memorial and will visit the war graves. He will also meet with the delegation from the Zanakkale Provincial Council.
