( IRNA ) - Minister of Defence Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said Iran regards expansion of ties with Islamic and Arab countries within its defense diplomacy.
Speaking to IRNA upon his arrival in Damascuss, he expressed the hope that Iran-Syria ties will provide an example to be followed for regional cooperation and integration.
"We will study bilateral agreements and also review development of defense ties and major regional and international issues," the visiting Iranian minister said.
Brigadier General Najjari is heading a high-ranking delegation for talks with his Syrian counterpart, Lieutenant General Hassan Ali Turkmani.
The Iranian delegation is also scheduled to hold talks with President Bashar al-Assad and senior defense and political officials of Syria.
