Iran, Gambia keen to expand agricultural cooperation

( IRNA ) - Agriculture Jihad Minister Mohammad-Reza Eskandari in a meeting with the visiting Gambian Foreign Minister Bala Garba Jahumpa here Wednesday urged the need for expansion of mutual economic relations, particularly in the field of agriculture.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the Gambian ambassador to Tehran and the presidential advisor for African affairs, the Gambian minister called for strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

He said that the content of the mutually signed memorandum of understanding should be pursued more seriously.

Meanwhile, he appreciated Iran's attention to cooperation with his country in the domain of agriculture.

The two sides also reached agreement on cooperation between their private sectors in implementation of joint projects in the domains of agriculture, agricultural processing industries, cattle breeding and fishery.

Concerning financing, they agreed on using credits of Bank Keshavarzi Iran for such joint projects Bank.
