Iran Materials 18 May 2007 11:32 (UTC +04:00)

( IRNA ) - Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani said on Thursday that his upcoming talks with European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana will take place in a European country on May 31.

He told a joint press conference with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf Bin Alawi that the exact venue of the talks will be announced later.

Asked about Iranian reaction to the next resolution of the Western powers at the UN Security Council, he said there is time remaining until the next resolution. If the Group 5+1 (permanent members of the Security Council) plus Germany want to go ahead with reneging on the international law, the opposite party has the same card to play too.

A reporter said that Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei has acknowledged that Iran has gone to advanced level of uranium enrichment. Larijani smiled and said, "We should pray for an accurate discerning from Mr. ElBaradei .

Responding to a question on what options are on the table when Iran considers suspension of enrichment as red line, he said what is important is that "We should not stick to the past formula." "If we imagine that giving time to one subject will be useful for another one, it is a mistake."

He said that certain segments in the political circles may think that you should give time to certain things to get a chance, but, optimum use of the time is the best.
