Iran and Armenia have signed an agreement to construct a railway, Iran's Fars news agency quoted Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi as saying on Nov.11.

Akhoundi said that Armenians intend to extend their railway to the Iranian city of Jolfa.
Iran expressed readiness for cooperation, and the sides signed an agreement on this issue on Nov.10.

The minister said the length of the railway between Iran and Armenia will be 382 kilometers, adding that 80 kilometers of this railway will run through Iran's territory and 302 kilometers through Armenia's territory.

Iran has started to investigate this issue.
