Italy calls for broadening economic ties with Iran

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Italy called for broadening economic ties with Iran.

In a meeting between Italy's Minister for Economic Development Federica Guidi and Iran's Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, the Italian official proposed that the two countries exchange delegations in order to pave the way for expanding industrial and trade relations, Iran's IRIB reported on May 2.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of Milan Expo 2015.

Italy was the 9th biggest importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, according to the Iran Customs Administration.

Iran exported $618.4 million of non-oil goods to Italy and imported $1.059 billion of non-oil goods from the country.
