Tehran, Iran, November 1

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

Deputy CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refinery and Distribution Company Shahrokh Khosravani said all refinery units across the country are operational, denying reports that some refineries in the country are closed down.

Yesterday over 1.805 million barrels of crude oil was processed and turned into products in the refineries, he stated, SHANA news agency reported November 1.

Pointing out that repair operations at the Isfahan and Tehran refineries are nearing their end, he said that except for a gasoline-making unit of the Tehran refinery, repair operations for all refineries across the country are over.

Yesterday, refineries of Abadan, Arak, Isfahan, Bandar Abbas, Tabriz, Tehran, Shiraz, Kermanshah, and Lavan turned 410, 251, 361, 327, 110, 210, 59, 21, and 65 thousand barrels of crude oil respectively into different products which shows that the refineries are up and that their reparations have been timely, the official added.

Iran ranks fourth in the world, with oil reserves of 158 billion barrels, but first in gas reserves with 34 trillion cubic meters, which equals 240 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
