Iran's South Gas Complex produces 387 million cubic meters (mcm/d) of raw gas per day as the cold season has started in the country, an Iranian gas official said.
Head of the South Gas Complex Masoud Hassani has said that 387 (mcm/d) of raw gas is produced in his complex while 320 (mcm/d) are refined and injected to cross country pipelines, IRNA news agency reported December 17.
He said that the complex provides the 57 percent of the country's needs and assured that the South Pars Gas complex faces no problem regarding providing the country with gas in winter as his colleagues work around the clock.
He said that currently the whole refineries in the various phases of the South Pars Gas are fully active and the first, second, third, fifth and ninth phases' refiners, produce 27, 57, 48, 55, 75 (mcm/d) respectively.
He said in addition to the sweet gas, the complex produces 520,000 barrels of condensate and 8,500 tons of liquid gas as well as 1200 tons of sulfur per day.
Iran is planning to increase its production capacity of gas in the South Pars Gas field to 750 million cubic meters per day by 2018. Therefore, the country's total gas output would reach 1000 million cubic meters per day.
