Iran’s car & car part export falls by 65%

Iran's car and car parts export experienced a 65-percent fall during the first two months of the current fiscal year (March 20-May 20).

Iran exported $14.118 million worth of cars and car parts in the period, according to the Iranian Customs Administration's latest report.

Venezuela, Egypt, Poland, Kuwait, Qatar, Kazakhstan, France, Russia, Iraq, Sudan, Cote d'Ivoire, the Czech Republic, Syria, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Italy, the United Arabic Emirates (UAE), Afghanistan, Jordan, Germany, China, Estonia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were the destinations of Iran's car and car parts exports.

The Islamic Republic also imported $244.7 million worth of car and car parts from Turkey, Italy, the UAE, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, France, Belarus, Spain, Macedonia, Kuwait, Belgium and Romania during the two-month period.

Iran's car and car parts imports registered a 5.5-percent increase in terms of value as compared to $232.06 million worth of imports during March 20-May 20, 2015.

Iran's non-oil exports (including condensates) surpassed $6.859 billion during the first two months of the current fiscal year, indicating a fall by 14.7 percent as compared to the same period of the preceding year.

The Islamic Republic also imported $5.497 billion worth of goods during the period, 13.5 percent less in comparison with the same months of the preceding year.
