President Hassan Rouhani's administration has launched 7,142 industrial units in industrial zones across Iran, according to Ali Yazdani, deputy minister of industry.
The units have employed 115,000 people, the official added, IRNA news agency reported August 26.
In the meantime, 2,431 production units which had been shut down were put back on service.
The official added that in the meantime, 54 industrial projects that were funded from overseas came on stream.
Also, permits were issued for creating 60 industrial zones across the country, he noted.
Since Rouhani came to office, the operation of industrial units rose by 9 percent, stable employment by 36.5 percent, and the issuance of guild certificates in the non-oil sector grew by 25 percent regarding the weight of the products and 6.6 percent regarding their value, Yazdani underlined.
Rouhani came to office in the summer of 2013. Then, Iran’s economic inflation rate hovered beyond 40 percent. But now, the rate has lowered to less than 10.
