Iran is to introduce 12 upstream offshore projects for foreigners at the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC), being held in Amsterdam on Oct.25-26.
The fields includes Ferdowsi, Golshan, Farzad (A&B), Kish, North Pars, phase 11 of South Pars, Balal (gas fields) as well as Salman, Foroozan, Nowrooz and Dorood (oil fields).
Iran prefers to attract direct foreign investment in these fields, Shana news agency reported.
The projects will be introduced in the framework of both buy-back and newly designed contract model, called Iran Petroleum Contract, or IPC.
Unlike the old contracts, IPC allows foreign companies to sign long-term contracts with Iran(20-25 years) and receive a percentage of produced oil as long as the field is active. This would encourage the foreign company to increase the field's recovery rate to receive more oil in the long term.
