Iran to launch 144 industrial, mining projects over next year

Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade plans to inaugurate 144 major projects over the coming fiscal year (starts March 21, 2017).

Manouchehr Taheri, a spokesman of the ministry, said that $6.3 billion (210 trillion rials) worth of projects will come on stream by next October, IRNA news agency reported.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Tehran on Dec. 6, he added that the projects will create 27,000 job opportunities.

President Hassan Rouhani handed over his proposed draft budget bill to parliament on December 4. The draft budget has put the price of US dollar at 33,000 rials.

The president through the draft bill has proposed to spend $18.1 billion on development projects over the next year.
