France’s Renault to supply trucks to Iran in summer

Saipa Diesel Company, an Iran-based trucks manufacturer, has said that Renault truck E will be supplied to the Iranian market from July 22.

Zaafar Tanhapour, the head of Saipa Diesel Company, has said that the company has already launched the process for selling Renault trucks in Iran and the new trucks will be supplied from July 22, ILNA news agency reported.

According to Tanhapour, the new vehicles will replace the aged trucks in the country.

He added that the company has also made efforts aimed at supplying the products of other international truck makers, including Volvo and Chinese Dongfeng to the country.

According to the official, his company offers vehicles at a price range between $82,800 and $147,000 in the country.

Tanhapour also said that all the products of Saipa Diesel are projected to meet the Euro 4 standards over the next fiscal year (starting March 21, 2017).

Renault has witnessed a huge surge in its sales in Iran’s car market as its sales in Iran boomed by 110.7 percent in 2016 to give the French carmaker 8.4 percent market share in the Islamic Republic.
